WorldPeer
WorldPeer™ is a platform that enables extremely rapid development of internationalized web-based database applications.  It consists of the following elements:
  • A database peer object library in Java that transparently handles object persistence in MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • A helper object library in Java that automatically produces the forms and queries necessary for users to interact with a database over the web
  • A control object library in Java and Javascript that represents dozens of types of web user interface controls, from basics like “text” and “datetime” to complex types relying on AJAX behaviors, such as international currencies.
  • A baseline database schema for MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server which contains the tables and data necessary to represent an internationalized web application
  • A bootstrap Java servlet that sets up the entire WorldPeer system with only a few minutes of configuration effort
  • A web-based toolset in JSP for end-user database administration, capable of adding, removing, and changing entire tables and fields on the fly.
Applications built on the WorldPeer platform are robust, exceptionally full-featured, very low bandwidth, and compatible with all popular computing platforms including Microsoft™  Windows™, Apple™ Macintosh™, Linux, and most PDAs.

With end-to-end Unicode UTF-8 support, every element of a WorldPeer-based application can be translated into any spoken language, and the displayed language of the application can be changed at runtime.  By relying on WorldPeer, Solertium’s product offerings can be made global-ready with only translation effort.  Translation itself is web-based.

WorldPeer cuts development time of internationalized applications by approximately 90%, compared to traditional approaches using string tables and per-locale recompilation.  Application developers can focus on functionality and overall look and feel, leaving the basics of correct and complete user interaction to WorldPeer.

The rest, as they say, is history!
