Software Engineering
With hundreds of successful career software launches behind our custom development team, and dozens of major mission-critical Solertium software products in current operation worldwide, you can trust us to design and build custom software for your smart business.
Our team accepts only best-fit projects that meet our Global Social Responsibility commitment, or pose groundbreaking technical challenges. We typically engage development projects valued at $100,000 to $1,000,000 over their lifecycle. Occasionally we undertake smaller or larger commitments for exceptional clients. Iterative Approach We believe that no meaningful software project should be planned in a single development cycle. If custom development is truly necessary, then some invention will be involved. Originality and creative problem-solving do not map well to a monolithic project plan. In an iterative strategy, the final product is developed in a series of phases, beginning with inexpensive proofs of concept that validate solutions to technical challenges, and concluding with labor-intensive finishing, testing, and remediation cycles. Early phases involve a small number of participants, a limited codebase, and can use agile development strategies to their best advantage. Problems can be identified early and resolved through aggressive refactoring and re-examination of assumptions. Building on this base of confidence, in later phases, the full feature set is completed and rolled out to a large testing community. Business Metrics First Our software engineering team is expected to always focus on the business value of the product. The most elegantly built custom software in the world is a failure if its costs exceed its benefits. Our design and engineering practices take into account the anticipated lifecycle of a solution, the scope of its intended use, and the available budget and resources. Technology Practice Areas Our custom development practice is restricted to the following areas:
Existing Solertium customers should contact their representative. New customers should contact sales@solertium.com with a description of the project and its timeline. We will need to have at least one informal meeting between executive decision-makers, to satisfy all parties that a likely fit exists, before we submit a formal bid or RFP response.
